Morning Entry Process
Scholars in 1st through 8th grade will meet their teachers in the schoolyard (entrance on Mentor street), where scholars will line up with their class. We will have support staff in the schoolyard to assist if your scholar is in need of assistance. The schoolyard opens at 8:40 AM. Please do not send your children to school prior to 8:40 as we need to have staff in place to receive and monitor scholars to ensure safety. The schoolyard gate closes at 9:15 AM; any scholar arriving after is considered late to school and must enter through main doors on Loudon St.
Scholars in Kindergarten will enter through the 13th street door (red door; corner of 13th and Loudon). Door will open at 8:40 AM. Please do not send your children to school prior to 8:40 as we need to have staff in place to receive and monitor scholars to ensure safety.
Our entry process will be the same the entire school year. The schoolyard gate closes at 9:15 AM; any scholar arriving after is considered late to school and must enter through main doors on Loudon St.
Dismissal
Dismissal will begin at 3:30 PM on regular school days. On half days we will begin the dismissal process at 12:15PM. Kindergarten students will exit through the same door as morning entry and must be picked up by an adult or older sibling. 1st and 2nd grade scholars will wait in the cafeteria during dismissal and will be sent out to their adult by school staff. 3rd – 8th grade scholars will dismiss through the school yard. Parents and guardians are not allowed in the school yard. Please tell the school staff at the gate which scholar you are picking up.
Student Information
Attention families: The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), a Federal law, requires that a school with certain exceptions obtain your written consent prior to the disclosure of personally identifiable information from your child’s education records. However, a school may disclose appropriately designated “directory information” without written consent, unless you have advised the school to the contrary in accordance with school district procedures. The primary purpose of directory information is to allow schools to include information from your child’s education records in certain school publications.
Parents who wish to opt their students out of directory information releases must complete an Opt-Out Form for each of their students, and must return each form to the school at which each student is enrolled.
